Iracema is a place, a beach, a statue, a cultural center, a carnival block, a travel agency, a pizzeria. Iracema is an Indian woman, a legend, a mermaid, a ghost, a stuffed cookie, a cardboard box, an electronic game. Iracema squatting, on top of a tree, playing ball, watching soap operas, playing the living dead, dancing the toré. Angry with sleep, with pain in the elbow, with a lot of energy, with a hunger like a lion, with a broken heart, with blood in the eyes. Iracema is a dance performance aimed at children that starts from the female character of the novelist José de Alencar from Ceará to think and discuss issues that cross the figure of women, as well as the meaning of their presence as part of the original peoples of Brazil in the past. and in the present.
