TREES/ ÁRVORES is an exercise in the desire for permanence, inverting space and questioning time. How long can the body hold?
The work emerges as a desire to be rooted in the city, where people dressed in the same costume live in passageways. There, they oppose the flow of movement, they remain upside down until the body can't take it anymore and they fall.
The proposal to carry out the performance Árvores in different cities intends to broaden the discussion about permanence, by allowing local artists to leave traces, not only in the urban landscape of the city, but also in their own bodies.
Trees interrogates the possible ways for the body to resist, continue, follow in potentiality.
The work can take place with guest performers or in the Trees/planting format. In Árvores/planting we held a workshop with local artists so that they could perform and together we could talk about the proposal and practices of dance in unconventional spaces.
