“The work, a development of previous performances of Lima in which this procedure took place on a smaller scale, invites a dialogue with the very idea of ​​monument, thinking about how living arts can propose or dialogue with the static and perennial logic of a sculpture whose where the aim is to resist everything. In this sense, this vertical form of the work is very important, which closely interacts with statues of emperors, colonizers, catbirds and other figures that stand, wield swords, and carry things. Here, everything is vertical like in the monuments, but inverted. We don’t see the faces, the individuals don’t matter, and the monumental verticality can, finally, in this structure, rest, give up, start over, get tired, taking the hardness of the carved stone to the porosity of a branch and the intelligence of a leaf.”
